Program History

The Office of Community Renewal has been administering the CDBG Program for the State of New York since 2000, when the administration of the program was transferred from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to the State of New York.

Through the years, the Office of Community Renewal has assisted hundreds of small communities in meeting their community development needs.  Those needs have included: creating and retaining jobs; creating opportunities for low- and moderate-income persons to purchase homes; stabilizing and enhancing neighborhoods through the rehabilitation of homes; and improving the health, safety, and welfare of many low- and moderate-income residents.

Information regarding the Office of Community Renewal's prior applicants, awardees, notices of funding availability, and applications is available for your reference.
